I’m Piet Dimitriadis, a doctoral researcher in the Microbiology research group at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, funded by the Research Foundation Flanders (FWO). I study how to cultivate mycelium materials reliably, at scale, and at low cost.

I hold degrees in Chemical Engineering and Science from Monash University in Australia and previously worked as a software developer. My aim is to make fungal fermentations predictable enough such that mycelium-derived products reach wide adoption, instead of just being cool ideas.
